the more i think about it, the more it seems Vax is the main character of season 1. while everyone definitely had a huge part of the story and took turns being in the spotlight, from the beginning to the end, season 1 is the story of a boy who lived in the shadows, found a purpose in life, found a family to protect and love, found something worth living for.


and he died for that something, in the service of protection, having saved the world and fulfilled his purpose. it’s the ultimate romantic tragedy - the hero dies having gained his purpose and his family is left to mourn and remember him.


and though every member of Vox Machina is a main character, ultimately it is Vax’s story that is told.

that Talks episode, man. I love it when they gush about how awesome the other players are.

and the sword is the coolest prop ever.
